FARMERSBURG, Ind. – A deputy town marshal with the Farmersburg Police Department has been arrested after a disturbing video surfaced allegedly showing him assaulting his pregnant girlfriend in the presence of two young children.
According to court documents, Cole Pickett, a Deputy Town Marshal in Farmersburg, is accused of domestic battery and intimidation. The video, which was submitted to authorities, allegedly shows Pickett threatening to “bop” his girlfriend in the mouth before physically grabbing her by the neck during an altercation in their driveway.
Also present during the incident were a baby and a toddler, which elevated the seriousness of the charges.
Following receipt of the video, law enforcement conducted interviews with both Pickett and the victim. After the interviews, Pickett was taken into custody.
He faces formal charges of:
Domestic battery with children present
Intimidation
Pickett’s arrest is currently under investigation, and no additional statements have been released by the Farmersburg Police Department.
