Depalpur Police Arrest Karan Waghela for Mobile Phone Theft

Karan Waghela (27) arrested for stealing six smartphones worth Rs 1.45 lakh.

On Sunday, Depalpur Police arrested Karan Waghela (27), a resident of Himmatgarh Rangwasa, Betma police station, for stealing six smartphones worth approximately Rs 1.45 lakh. The theft occurred on April 2, 2025, between 12 PM and 2 PM, when an unknown thief stole the phones from Mahakal Mobile Gallery located at Chaman Square, Depalpur.

According to ASP Rupesh Dwivedi, a case was registered at Depalpur Police Station following the theft. Due to the serious nature of the crime, a special investigation team was formed to track down the thief.

On April 12, the police received a tip-off and successfully arrested Karan Waghela. After intense questioning, Karan admitted to the theft, and all six stolen smartphones were recovered from his possession.

The accused has been bound under Section 35(1) of the BNSS.
