FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged after allegedly assaulting two women at a Kroger store on Middlebelt Road earlier this month.
The Farmington Hills Police Department identified the suspect as Deon Otis Grant of Southfield. Police say that on September 5, 2025, a woman reported that Grant placed an unknown liquid on the back of her pants while she was shopping.
Just three days later, on September 8, Grant reportedly returned to the same Kroger store. Store employees recognized him and called 911. Before officers arrived, police say he targeted a second woman in a similar assault.
Grant attempted to flee but was arrested at the scene.
The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office authorized a two-count warrant for fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct—one count for each incident.
Grant was arraigned on September 10, entered a not guilty plea, and was released on a $10,000 personal bond. As part of his release conditions, he is prohibited from contacting the victims or returning to the Kroger store.
Police have submitted the victims’ clothing for testing to identify the unknown substance used in the assaults.
Grant’s next court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. on September 19, 2025.
