Collierville driver charged with auto theft

by Sophia Bennett

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. — A delivery driver was arrested after using a stolen vehicle for grocery deliveries, authorities say.

Collierville police responded just after 7 a.m. Saturday to Walmart, where a car reported stolen out of Memphis had been spotted. The driver, Denise Badie, 46, was reportedly working for a grocery delivery service in the stolen vehicle.

Because the car contained perishable items, an officer assisted in completing the delivery before Badie was taken into custody. She was charged with auto theft and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
