JACKSON, Miss. — A 21-year-old man is in custody after a deadly shooting in Jackson that left one person dead on Saturday.
According to the Jackson Police Department (JPD), officers responded to the 4000 block of Hanging Moss Road, where they discovered 46-year-old Robert Lewis Harris with fatal gunshot wounds.
Following an initial investigation, detectives identified Demonte Swann, 21, as the suspect in the shooting. Swann was arrested shortly afterward and has been charged with murder.
Authorities have not released further details about the motive or circumstances surrounding the incident.
Swann remains in custody as legal proceedings begin.
