SHREVEPORT, La. — Three suspects were arrested Monday evening following a robbery at Dick’s Sporting Goods on Youree Drive, according to Shreveport Police.

Officers responded to a call reporting a theft in progress. Witnesses stated that multiple individuals fled the store with stolen merchandise. Officers quickly located and apprehended Demia Broadway, Zion Green, and Cedric Edwards.

During the investigation, it was revealed that store employees tried to stop the suspects, but the trio allegedly threatened to shoot the staff, placing them in fear for their lives. Due to the threats, the incident was elevated to second-degree robbery, said Cpl. Chris Bordelon.

“These types of crimes will be addressed with diligence and determination,” Bordelon stated. “Individuals who choose to terrorize businesses and instill fear in our community will be held accountable. The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to protecting our residents, businesses, and visitors.”

All three suspects are now facing robbery charges and are in police custody as the investigation continues.
