VICTORVILLE, Calif. — Demetrius Powell, 26, of Covina, was arrested Monday following an armed robbery at Doris Davies Park, authorities reported.
Deputies responded around 12:07 p.m. on February 16, 2026, to the park in Victorville after receiving reports that a male suspect had confronted a victim, brandishing a handgun and demanding property.
According to the Victorville Police Department, Powell forcibly took a gold chain and pendant from the victim before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.
Powell was later located at a residence and taken into custody without incident. Law enforcement obtained a search warrant for the residence and associated vehicles.
He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center on charges of PC 211 – Armed Robbery.
