Demetrious Hunter Arrested in Waterbury Drug Bust

Vehicle stop leads to crack, heroin, and fentanyl seizure

WATERBURY, Conn. — A routine traffic stop in Waterbury led to a major drug bust and the arrest of Demetrious Hunter, 32, local police reported.

On November 18, around 11:30 a.m., officers patrolling Whitewood Road noticed a gold Honda with a license plate that did not match its registration. When police attempted to stop the vehicle, Hunter allegedly struck multiple police cruisers before fleeing on foot.

During the investigation, officers seized 11.3 grams of crack cocaine, 103 bags of heroin/fentanyl, and various drug paraphernalia.

Hunter faces multiple charges, including:

Unsafe backing

Reckless driving

Misuse of marker plates

Operating a drug factory

Failure to display tint sticker

Interfering with a police officer

Operating an unregistered vehicle

Possession of narcotics with intent to sell

Illegal operation of a motor vehicle without insurance

The incident highlights law enforcement’s ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crime in the area.
