BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A Bowling Green man has been arrested and faces multiple charges, including trafficking fentanyl, following a traffic stop Thursday night.

At approximately 10:45 p.m., Bowling Green Police stopped a vehicle on Stubbins Street for driving without headlamps. The driver, 33-year-old Delsjuan Dewalt, told officers he had an outstanding warrant.

After Dewalt was taken into custody, police detected the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Two passengers were also asked to exit the car.

During a search, officers found marijuana in Dewalt’s pocket. A vehicle search uncovered a green leafy substance, a glass pipe, and a loaded handgun. Dewalt claimed ownership of both the gun and the marijuana.

Dewalt was arrested and taken to Warren County Regional Jail. His charges include possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and an indictment for trafficking fentanyl — his first offense.
