GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — Delisha Oxendine, 36, of Trinity, North Carolina, was arrested on February 24th after being caught driving a stolen vehicle during a traffic stop on Interstate 95 near mile marker 32.
According to the Glynn County Police Department (GCPD), an officer was patrolling southbound when a License Plate Recognition System alerted that a black Toyota RAV-4 was reported stolen from North Carolina. The officer immediately radioed for assistance and stopped the vehicle near mile marker 32.
During the stop, Oxendine was detained without incident. She later admitted to stealing the car from her mother that morning. Upon further investigation, authorities discovered that she was currently on probation for vehicle theft in North Carolina and had cut off her ankle monitor.
Oxendine has been charged with Theft by Bringing Stolen Property into the State. After her release, she will face vehicle theft charges and a probation violation in North Carolina.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to review the case.
