In a significant breakthrough, Delhi Police have arrested a gang of three suspects responsible for a series of thefts targeting passengers on crowded public buses. The arrests followed a detailed investigation after a theft was reported on February 5.
All members of the gang, originally from Gujarat, carried out the thefts by creating distractions and using sharp tools to cut open passengers’ bags. The criminals made off with gold and silver jewelry, as well as over Rs 1 lakh in cash.
The police identified the gang’s mastermind, Daiodiya Dipubhai, along with two accomplices, after analyzing CCTV footage from the incidents. The operation also led to the recovery of melted gold. Authorities are continuing investigations to uncover any additional crimes linked to the group.
