The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested three men, including an LLB graduate, for allegedly duping an employee of a multinational technology company of Rs 31 lakh in an investment fraud scheme.

According to DCP (Crime) Aditya Gautam, the accused posed as representatives of a reputed investment firm and lured victims with promises of high returns through Initial Public Offerings (IPOs). They reportedly operated through self-designed online portals to make the scheme appear legitimate.

Police revealed that the syndicate recruited financially vulnerable individuals to open mule bank accounts, which were then used to route the defrauded money.

Technical surveillance led investigators to Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, where one accused was arrested, while two others were bound down.

The arrested accused, identified as Sarvjeet (35), an LLB graduate, allegedly arranged a mule bank account in the name of a charity in exchange for money. He then handed the account details to co-accused Pawan (33) and Puneet (32), who supplied such accounts to cyber fraudsters.

Investigators further stated that Puneet received a bank account kit from Sarvjeet and another previously arrested accused, Deepak Saini.

Police added that the accused are linked to multiple complaints registered on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP).

In another cyber fraud case, four men were arrested for allegedly cheating a chartered accountant from Krishna Nagar in Shahdara.

The accused posed as agents of a private bank and sent the victim an APK file through social media. After installing the malicious file, Rs 75,694 was debited from her credit card.

DCP (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam stated that the stolen money was used to purchase electronic items online, which were delivered to Charmwood village in Faridabad.

Police traced the accused to Surajkund in Faridabad, leading to the arrests of Ashish Kumar Ojha (23) and Vivek Kumar (37). Abhishek Kumar Jha (24) was later arrested in Bihar, while Ikrar (23) was apprehended from Pul Pehlad Pur in South Delhi.

Investigations in both cases are ongoing.
