In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Delhi Police arrested seven individuals involved in narcotics distribution in East Delhi. The operation, conducted near Ghazipur Border on NH-9 during heightened security for Chhath Puja, led to the recovery of psychotropic substances valued at approximately Rs 1.6 crore.

Authorities also seized two vehicles worth around Rs 15 lakh, which were allegedly used to transport the drugs. The arrested suspects include Naveel, Talib, Nadir Khan alias Sahil, Md. Amaan, Areeb, Arshu, and Tarakki, many of whom have prior criminal records, including theft and robbery.

The police operation was initiated based on a tip-off about a planned large-scale drug distribution. Investigators are now probing the supply chain and distribution network, with particular attention on Md. Amaan and Nadir Khan due to their previous offenses.

Officials emphasized that the arrest marks a significant step in curbing drug-related crimes in East Delhi and ensuring public safety during major festivals.
