Delhi Police have arrested two men, Ayan (32) and Nizam (45), for running an online cricket betting racket. The duo was caught accepting digital bets on the India-Pakistan match in Malviya Nagar, South Delhi, officials reported on Tuesday.

The arrests followed a tip-off, prompting a police team to investigate the area. The team raided a house in Panchsheel Vihar, where they found the two men watching the match while handling bets.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan stated that the arrested individuals are both residents of Sangam Vihar. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Nizam had a history of involvement in gambling, with a previous case registered against him at the Neb Sarai police station.

During questioning, Ayan and Nizam admitted to accepting bets for the match via online betting applications. They confessed to having received a total of Rs 13 lakh in bets on the game.

The police recovered several items from the house, including Rs 16,120 in cash, a LED TV, a laptop, six mobile phones, and other betting-related gadgets. Both suspects have been charged under relevant sections, and the investigation is continuing to uncover more details about the illegal gambling network.
