Delhi Police cracked down on a fake call centre operating from a Noida basement, arresting eight people involved in a massive credit card scam worth Rs6.5 crore. The accused include Vikas (28), Kundan Singh (31), Divyam (22), and five women who had been running the racket for seven months.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sachin Sharma, the telemarketers contacted unsuspecting individuals, falsely promising to increase their credit card limits. Victims were then sent malicious links to steal sensitive account details and OTPs, enabling fraudulent transactions.

The scam was exposed on March 22 when a victim reported losing Rs6,000 after receiving a call from the fraudsters. Police investigation using Internet Protocol Detail Records (IPDR), Call Detail Records (CDR), and IMEI tracking led them to the operational hub located in the basement of Building D-60, Sector-63, Noida.

Following a raid at the site, authorities seized 24 mobile phones and a diary detailing fraudulent transactions amounting to ₹6.5 crore. Police are continuing their investigation to identify other possible accomplices.
