Delhi Police have uncovered a large fake visa operation, arresting four individuals who allegedly ran a sophisticated syndicate producing counterfeit visa stickers and residence cards. The breakthrough came after a complaint was lodged at the Chanakyapuri police station regarding victims being duped under the guise of visa services.
Among those arrested was Uday Pal Singh, who allegedly ran a covert printing press from his residence in Tilak Nagar. During the raid, police seized sophisticated equipment, including UV light machines, blank sticker papers, and various rubber stamps and seals used to create fraudulent documents.
The investigation was initiated after a man reported being scammed out of Rs 6 lakh for a German visa. The primary suspect, Paramjeet Singh, was arrested near the Kuwait embassy in Chanakyapuri. This led police to uncover the wider syndicate.
According to DCP (New Delhi) Devesh Kumar Mahla, the criminals used social media platforms to lure victims and maintained international WhatsApp numbers to avoid detection. In total, the police seized 25 passports, 50 fake visa stickers, and five temporary residence cards.
The other arrested individuals include Tajinder Singh, a courier, and Sunil Kumar Sood, a key middleman. Investigation revealed that several of the accused had prior criminal records related to visa fraud and cheating. A forensic analysis of their electronic devices uncovered 8.5GB of data linked to fake visa stickers, suggesting that the operation might have scammed many individuals across the country.
