In a major breakthrough, the Delhi Police have busted a drug syndicate and arrested a key accused with heroin worth over Rs 50 lakh. The operation began with the arrest of Imran, a 40-year-old, on April 4 in Kabir Nagar. Imran was allegedly caught red-handed while delivering 315 grams of heroin in a car, as confirmed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch), Apoorva Gupta.
During interrogation, Imran revealed that he had procured the heroin from Suraj, a resident of New Usmanpur. Acting on this information, the police arrested Suraj on April 21 near the Shastri Park flyover, while he was attempting to deliver 97 grams of heroin on a motorcycle. Suraj, aged 40, has a criminal history, with five previous cases of robbery and snatching.
The police have seized a significant amount of heroin, and the investigation is ongoing to trace other members involved in the drug supply chain.
