In a significant operation, Delhi Police have arrested two individuals, including a woman, involved in drug trafficking. The police seized 402 grams of heroin, with an estimated market value of Rs 2.5 crore.
The operation took place between December 7 and 8, following a tip-off that led to targeted raids. The first arrest occurred in Narela, where a 41-year-old woman was apprehended with 102 grams of heroin. She has a history of drug-related offenses and had been previously arrested with her husband earlier in 2023.
The second arrest was made in Bawana, where Jilani, a 30-year-old from Uttar Pradesh, was caught with 300 grams of heroin. Jilani has a criminal history, including charges under the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Social Activities Prevention Act and the Cow Slaughter Prevention Act.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North), Nidhin Valsan, confirmed the arrests and stated that investigations are still ongoing to apprehend other members of the drug trafficking network operating within Delhi.
This successful operation highlights the efforts of Delhi Police to curb the growing issue of drug trafficking in the capital.
