Delhi Police Arrest Three in Rs 7.2 Lakh Mobile Theft & UPI Fraud

Accused spent stolen money on Uttarakhand trip, more suspects sought

In a startling case of theft and digital fraud, Delhi Police have arrested three individuals for stealing a mobile phone from a bus commuter and draining Rs 7.2 lakh from his bank accounts using a fabricated UPI ID. The accused—Aman and Karthikay, both aged 25 from Mohan Garden, and Prince Yadav, 20, from Nangloi—reportedly spent the stolen money on a lavish trip across Uttarakhand, visiting destinations like Dehradun, Haridwar, and Kedarnath.

The crime originated on May 24 near Delhi Gate, with the case officially registered by Najafgarh police on May 29. Police investigations revealed extensive collaboration among the suspects. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other accused individuals, including Danny, Ritik, and Sumit.
