In a major breakthrough, the Delhi Police’s Special Cell, in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), has successfully busted an interstate drug cartel and arrested three individuals in connection with the trafficking of alprazolam. The police seized a total of 4.720 kilograms of alprazolam (valued at Rs 1 crore), a drug commonly used to treat anxiety disorders.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Amit Kaushik, DCP of Special Cell (TYR), and ACP Kailash Singh Bisht, who supervised the investigation. The arrested individuals were identified as Rachit Kumar (22), Namit Chaudhary (34), and Vanga Rajender Goud (49), all of whom are believed to be key players in the narcotics trafficking network.
The bust follows a detailed investigation into the cartel’s operations, which spanned multiple states. These individuals were allegedly involved in smuggling large quantities of alprazolam and distributing it across Delhi and neighboring regions.
Authorities have praised the operation, calling it a significant success in curbing the illegal drug trade, and are continuing to probe the network for potential accomplices.
