Delhi Police have arrested three members of an inter-state robbery gang from Madhya Pradesh, accused of targeting locked houses across the city by using locksmith skills to commit burglaries. The accused — Surjeet Singh (41), Anil Singh (32), and Kirtan Singh (24) — residents of Indore, have prior criminal records, officials confirmed on Thursday.

The police recovered a significant quantity of stolen property, including gold jewelry and nine stolen two-wheelers from the trio.

The arrests came after a burglary case reported on April 20 in Vijay Vihar, where gold jewelry and Rs50,000 in cash were stolen. A police investigation involving CCTV footage and local intelligence led to the suspects, who were found at a hotel in Mahipalpur after searches in over 50 hotels. The gang was apprehended on April 28.

According to police, the gang followed a routine—traveling monthly to Delhi, booking a hotel room in Mahipalpur, and carrying out burglaries over two weeks. During the day, they identified locked homes and at night, stole local two-wheelers to facilitate their crimes. They reportedly targeted over 10 houses in a single night before returning to Madhya Pradesh.

So far, the gang is linked to at least 13 house burglaries and nine motor vehicle thefts across Rohini and adjoining sectors.

Seized items include Rs22,000 cash, 10 gold bangles, two necklaces, nine rings, seven pairs of earrings, four gold chains, and specialized lock-breaking tools.

Surjeet Singh has 10 previous cases, including under the Arms Act, while Anil Singh and Kirtan Singh have multiple burglary cases registered in Madhya Pradesh. The investigation continues.
