Delhi: The Delhi Police have cracked the Karol Bagh mobile wholesale shop burglary case, in which over Rs42 lakh was stolen, using advanced facial recognition technology (FRT), officials said on Tuesday.
The key accused, identified as Suraj (23), a resident of Mukundpur, northwest Delhi, and an employee of the mobile shop, was arrested on November 14. He faces charges of burglary, theft, and house-breaking.
During the arrest, police recovered Rs13.5 lakh from Suraj’s possession. Investigators noted that the use of facial recognition technology played a crucial role in tracking and apprehending the suspect.
Authorities continue to investigate the case to determine if there were additional accomplices involved in the theft.
