In a swift action, the Delhi Police have apprehended six individuals involved in the robbery of Rs 10 lakh in Rohini earlier this month. Authorities also recovered Rs 8.68 lakh from the suspects’ possession.

The incident occurred on May 21 when Kuldeep Kumar, an employee at a chartered accountancy firm, was returning to his office after collecting the cash from a trading company located in Avantika Market, Rohini. While near Maharaja Agrasen Marg, opposite the Power House in Sector-3, two men on a motorcycle intercepted his bike and snatched the bag containing the money before fleeing the scene.

A case was registered at the South Rohini Police Station under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Inspector Gyaneshwar Singh led the investigation team that reviewed CCTV footage along Kuldeep’s route. The footage revealed another motorcycle with three youths trailing the victim.

The police identified suspects as 22-year-old Jatin Tiwari alias Langda, from Vijay Vihar, and Rahul from Rithala. The vehicle used in the crime was registered in the name of Ravinder, a resident of Rithala village.

Jatin Tiwari was arrested on May 22 and confessed to handing over the stolen bag to his accomplice, Prince alias Lallu. Prince was riding with Arslan Pathan and Kapil Patel during the incident. Further interrogation revealed that the group had been tipped off about the cash by Yogender Singh alias Raja, a former employee of the same chartered accountancy firm.

Following Jatin’s confession, the remaining accused were arrested. The police successfully recovered Rs 8.68 lakh out of the stolen Rs 10 lakh.
