In a significant breakthrough, Delhi Police have dismantled an international drug trafficking syndicate operating in Delhi, arresting three key persons, including the main supplier, following coordinated raids in Delhi and Punjab.

The Anti-Narcotics Cell of Dwarka District Police, led by DCP Ankit Singh, spearheaded the crackdown as part of a wider initiative to make Delhi drug-free.

The probe began after Head Constable Kuldeep received intelligence about a drug consignment being transported from Bihar via train, procured from Nepal, and headed for distribution in Dwarka.

On May 23, acting on a tip-off, police intercepted Rajesh (50) from Jai Vihar, Najafgarh near Dwarka Metro Station. He was found with 6.06 kg of ganja. A case was registered under the NDPS Act at Dwarka North Police Station, with SI Naveen leading the investigation.

A search of Rajesh’s rented flat in JG Block, Vikaspuri, West Delhi, uncovered a massive stash of 168.89 kg ganja. Rajesh admitted to using the apartment as a godown to store drugs, renting it in a posh area to avoid suspicion. He revealed the ganja was sourced from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, transported from Bihar, and distributed widely across Delhi NCR. In total, he confessed to receiving 300 kg of ganja.

Following Rajesh’s statement, police arrested the key supplier, Krishnanand Choudhary from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, on May 26. Krishnanand admitted coordinating the shipment of drugs from Bihar to Delhi via Punjab.

A local distributor, Krishan from Indira Market, Najafgarh, was also arrested. A search of his residence yielded 2.033 kg of ganja.

All three are currently in custody as the police continue investigations to uncover the wider drug network, including tracking railway routes and financial trails linked to the syndicate.
