Delhi: The Delhi Police have arrested a 26-year-old drug trafficker, Mridul Singh Tomar, and seized nearly 800 grams of heroin valued at over Rs 5 crore, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
Tomar was apprehended near a mall in East Delhi on February 13, following a police tip-off. A total of 799 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession, and an FIR has been registered. Authorities are investigating to identify other members of the narcotics supply network.
During interrogation, Tomar admitted that he initially procured small quantities for personal use, but escalated to bulk procurement and distribution across Delhi over the past month. The consignment is believed to have been sourced from Kasim Vihar, Uttar Pradesh, on a profit-sharing basis.
Police noted that Tomar has a criminal record with eight prior cases, and the investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of his operations.
