The Proclaimed Offenders (PO) Cell of the Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) West District of Delhi Police has arrested a wanted offender in a burglary case registered in 2020.
A special team was formed to trace proclaimed offenders in the city. On March 8, acting on a secret tip-off, the team apprehended the accused, identified as Junaid, alias Junny, in the JJ Colony Sawda area. Junny had been declared a proclaimed offender by the JMFC-06 Court at Tis Hazari Courts on September 27, 2025, and was previously linked to eight criminal cases.
Legal proceedings regarding his arrest were initiated at Punjabi Bagh Police Station. With Junny in custody, the burglary case registered at Mundka Police Station has been resolved. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
In a related operation, the AATS West District also arrested Himanshu Gupta, the main contractor from Udaipur, Rajasthan, in connection with the Janakpuri biker death case. The incident involved the tragic death of Kamal Dhyani, who fell into a 15-foot pit dug by the Delhi Jal Board near Andhra School, Janakpuri, on February 6. Dhyani was declared dead at Deen Dayal Hospital, Hari Nagar. Authorities are continuing to probe both cases for further developments.
