Delhi Police’s Crime Branch arrested two drug traffickers, including a woman, and recovered high-grade heroin worth Rs80 lakh.
On July 19, police intercepted 36-year-old Kashim from New Seemapuri and seized 789 grams of heroin from him. A case was registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Kashim disclosed he worked under 48-year-old Bindu Devi, a known trafficker from the same area, who operated the drug supply chain through her absconding son-in-law, Arif alias Samir.
Bindu Devi, previously externed from Delhi in July 2024, was traced and arrested on August 3 in Gurugram. Authorities recovered Rs3,300 in suspected drug proceeds from her and seized an additional 20 grams of heroin during her custody.
Kashim, a Class 6 dropout who previously worked at a hardware store, fell into drug addiction and trafficking. Bindu Devi, an illiterate housewife with three prior criminal cases including two under the NDPS Act, reportedly has a family deeply affected by drugs.
In total, police confiscated 809 grams of heroin, Rs3,300 cash, and three mobile phones, continuing their probe into the drug network.
