Delhi Police Arrest 3 in Lajpat Nagar Jewelry Snatchings

Suspects nabbed after technical surveillance and raids

In a significant breakthrough, Delhi Police have arrested three individuals following a series of jewelry snatching incidents in the Lajpat Nagar area. The arrests came after an extensive investigation involving technical surveillance.

The first incident occurred on December 16, when a woman’s chain was snatched near the Lajpat Nagar Metro Station. Two more cases with a similar modus operandi were reported in January, prompting authorities to launch a detailed inquiry.

Police were able to identify the suspects after spotting a motorcycle with a partially damaged number plate in surveillance footage. Following multiple raids, the accused—Hemesh and Vinay Kumar, both residents of Ghaziabad, and Ghanshyam, a jeweler suspected of buying stolen goods—were apprehended.
