Delhi-Patna Police Arrest Shubham Kumar in Rs 5.37 Crore Cyberfraud

Joint operation leads to arrest of key accused in major cybercrime case

In a joint operation between Delhi police’s cyber cell and Patna police, a 25-year-old youth, Shubham Kumar, was arrested for his involvement in a cyberfraud case amounting to Rs 5.37 crore. The arrest took place on Wednesday at his residence in Goraila village under Naubatpur police station.

Sanjeet Kumar, SHO of Naubatpur police station, stated that a five-member team from Delhi had come specifically to arrest the accused. Earlier, on Tuesday, the team arrested 33-year-old Dheeraj Kumar from Shiv Shakti Nagar in Bihta, Patna, in Ranchi. Following this, a raid was conducted in Naubatpur leading to the arrest of Shubham Kumar.

The case was registered at Delhi’s South West cyber police station on June 6. During the investigation, cellphone location data placed the suspects near Naubatpur and Bihta. Police seized cellphones from both accused individuals.

Following their arrest, Shubham Kumar was produced in court, after which the Delhi cyber cell team secured a transit remand for further investigation.
