A gang of women pickpockets, who had been targeting commuters on the Delhi Metro, was apprehended on Thursday evening after a man caught them red-handed trying to steal from his bag.

The police arrested Laxmi, the main accused, a 40-year-old woman with a notorious criminal history of 13 previous theft cases. Her associates, identified as Sanjana (22), Sandhya (20), and Jahnvi (22), were also involved in the crime but were released on bond.

The suspects, all residents of Kathputli Colony in Shadipur, had been operating in the Delhi Metro for some time, targeting unsuspecting commuters. They were caught in the act when the victim noticed them tampering with his belongings and immediately alerted the authorities.

Laxmi, the ringleader, has a significant criminal record, which includes multiple theft charges. Investigations are ongoing as the police look into the possibility of more victims.
