Delhi Police’s crime branch has successfully dismantled a drug trafficking module distributing ‘Malana Cream’ hashish to students at prominent colleges in Hauz Khas and the Qutub Institutional area.
Two men were arrested during the operation, with authorities seizing over 2,000 grams of the contraband valued at Rs 2 crore. The narcotics were also being sold at rave parties on the outskirts of Delhi.
DCP (Crime Branch) Sanjeev Yadav stated that one accused, Manoj Sansanwal, is a Delhi University graduate. The other, Sagar Sejwal, is a notorious trafficker previously arrested in Himachal Pradesh in 2017 for bringing drugs to Delhi. Investigations are ongoing to trace the source of the contraband and its recipients.
Acting on a tip-off about an interstate cartel supply on October 8, police laid a trap at the Singhu Border, arresting the duo with 2.1 kg of Malana Cream. A vehicle used for smuggling was also seized.
Sansanwal, who had a prior extortion case, reportedly began trafficking hashish during the pandemic after connecting with Sejwal. Their activities came under police surveillance following the arrest of a key carrier, Budhram, in December last year, forcing the traffickers to source drugs directly from Himachal Pradesh.
The Delhi Police continue to investigate the drug network’s full extent.
