The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police has successfully arrested Vijay Bansal (24) and Tony Bansal (23), two wanted criminals who had been absconding in connection with tourist loot, theft, and Arms Act cases.
According to the police, Vijay Bansal, who has studied up to class 3, was wanted in a tourist loot case and faced charges under the Arms Act at both Daryaganj and New Usmanpur police stations. On the other hand, Tony Bansal, who completed only class 7, is an active member of a robbery gang and had also been on the run.
The breakthrough came when the police received secret information that the two accused were planning to visit Sheeshganj Sahib Gurudwara in Chandni Chowk. Acting on this tip-off, the police set a trap and arrested both men on March 13 in the morning. During interrogation, the duo confessed to their involvement in the crimes.
The operation was led by Inspector Gaurav Chaudhary, with the support of SI Naveen Dahiya, ASI Muhar Khan, Head Constable Ankur, and Head Constable Anup Kumar.
Vijay Bansal had been declared wanted by Thana Kotwali in North District and Thana Daryaganj in Central District, while Tony Bansal was being sought by Thana Kotwali police. Following their arrest, both criminals have been handed over to the respective police stations for further investigation.
The police are continuing their probe into the criminal activities of the duo and their gang.
