Delhi police have arrested two employees of the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) for allegedly stealing Rs 2,500 from a passenger’s bag. The accused, Gaurav Kumar (38), a Junior Manager, and Prakash Chand (59), an Operator in the Lost and Found Department, were arrested after their actions were caught on CCTV footage.

The incident occurred when Roshan Patel, a US citizen and OCI cardholder, arrived in Delhi on September 11, 2024, and found her bag missing. CCTV footage revealed that Kumar and Chand were seen handling the bag in a suspicious manner.

According to the police, Kumar discovered the money while transferring the bag and persuaded Chand to steal it. The two then deleted the cash entry from the system and exchanged the stolen Rs 2,500 in Connaught Place to cover up the crime. Both were arrested after the investigation and are facing legal action for their involvement in the theft.
