The Gorwa Police arrested a woman involved in a series of gold jewellery thefts across multiple states after she was spotted acting suspiciously inside the hostel premises of GMERS Hospital on Friday.
Alert Police Act on Tip-Off
Acting on intelligence, officers monitored the suspect and detained her before she could escape. She was identified as Deepti Singh (30), a resident of Lucknow.
Confession and Recovered Stolen Jewellery
During questioning, Singh allegedly confessed to multiple thefts, including:
Gold jewellery stolen from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital about 10 days ago
A prior theft in Rajkot
Police recovered jewellery worth approximately Rs2 lakh from her possession.
Modus Operandi
Investigators reported that Singh targeted crowded hospitals, often stealing from patients or their relatives after conducting reconnaissance. She would then make a swift escape to avoid detection.
Singh remains in custody as police continue to investigate additional thefts linked to her across multiple states.
