In a swift operation, Gurugram police arrested three individuals — including two women — who were allegedly planning to carry out a robbery at gunpoint late on Friday night near Khushboo Chowk.
The accused have been identified as Deepak, a resident of Firozabad (Uttar Pradesh), and Roopa and Anju, both from Vijay Nagar, Rohini. Police seized an illegal pistol with a live cartridge, an iron rod, and a bottle of red chilli spray from their possession.
Acting on credible intelligence, a team led by Inspector Narender Kumar, in charge of the Sector 43 Crime Unit, conducted a raid and apprehended the suspects. An FIR has been registered at the DLF Phase 1 Police Station.
According to a police spokesperson, interrogation revealed that the trio was involved in seven previous thefts in Gurugram. Nine separate cases of theft have already been registered against Deepak, while Anju and Roopa have two and one prior cases respectively.
Authorities are continuing to question the accused to uncover details of their past crimes and possible associates.
