Police have arrested two men, Deepak Paswan (26) and Arshad (24), for allegedly stealing mobile phones worth over Rs2 lakh from a shop in Tronica City, Ghaziabad. The theft occurred on July 2, 2025, at Ayesha Mobile Shop, and was reported by shop owner Azad, a resident of Qasim Vihar.
According to ACP Siddharth Gautam, a case under Section 305(A) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered after Azad filed a complaint about five missing phones worth Rs1 lakh.
Investigators reviewed CCTV footage from the shop and nearby locations, leading them to identify and apprehend Paswan and Arshad from Khanpur Tiraaha, within the Tronica City area. The police recovered:
10 mobile phones of various brands worth over Rs2 lakh
A black Splendor motorcycle used in the crime
During questioning, the suspects admitted to having committed the theft. They also confessed to substance abuse and said they were scouting the area on June 28, 2025, before targeting the shop on July 2.
Both men hail from different regions—Paswan is from Samastipur, Bihar, and Arshad is from Uttam Nagar, Delhi—but were living near each other in Delhi.
Police continue to investigate whether the duo is connected to other recent thefts in the area.
