Deepak Kumar Jhunjhunwalla Held in Rs54L Online Fraud Case

West Godavari Police arrest duo from West Bengal in scam

West Godavari district police have arrested two men from West Bengal in connection with a Rs54 lakh online fraud that took place in October 2024.

According to an official release from Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi, the accused — L. Deepak Kumar and Rajesh Jhunjhunwalla, both residents of 24 Parganas district — were arrested and brought to Narsapuram on May 8 as part of the investigation.

Police allege the two were key operatives in an elaborate cyber fraud network that duped victims of large sums under false pretenses involving digital transactions and investment schemes.

Authorities have not yet disclosed full details of the method used in the scam, but said further investigation is underway to track additional suspects and recover the defrauded amount.
