Deepak ‘Khau’ Nabbed for Auto Theft in Panchkula

Police recover stolen auto; accused in five thefts

The Panchkula Police have arrested a habitual thief and recovered a stolen auto from his possession. The accused has been identified as Deepak (20), alias Khau, a resident of Rajiv Colony, Sector 17.

According to officials, a team led by Inspector Mukesh Saini set up a naka near the Kalka–Shimla overbridge in Old Panchkula on November 3. The team stopped Deepak on suspicion, and during questioning, he confessed to having stolen the auto from the Mauli Jagran area around 8–10 days earlier.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Deepak was involved in at least five other theft cases across the Tricity region.

The accused was produced in court on Tuesday and has been sent to judicial custody, while further inquiries are underway to trace other stolen items and possible accomplices.
