Hudkeshwar Police have apprehended Deepak alias Bajrang alias Bhajan Bramhdas Bansod (40), involved in a series of house burglaries and vehicle thefts, successfully resolving six criminal cases and recovering stolen goods valued at Rs6.55 lakh.
Between the morning of May 25 and late morning of May 26, 2025, Domaji Sonawane (50) from Ingole Nagar had left his house locked and traveled to his in-laws’ home in Dighori. During his absence, burglars forcibly broke the main door lock and stole Rs7,500 cash along with gold and silver jewelry worth Rs2,55,500 from an iron cupboard in the bedroom.
Following a complaint, Hudkeshwar Police registered a case under BNS Sections 454, 457, and 380. Forensic analysis and tip-offs led to the arrest of Deepak Bansod, a resident of Tarodi Khurd, Nagpur, originally from Balaghat district, Madhya Pradesh. Upon questioning, he confessed to the housebreaking.
Further interrogation revealed his involvement in five additional vehicle thefts in the Hudkeshwar area. Police recovered gold ornaments and a motorcycle valued at Rs4,50,500 connected to the burglary case, along with five stolen vehicles — two motorcycles and three mopeds — worth Rs2,05,000.
In total, property valued at ₹6,55,000 has been seized. Investigations are ongoing to identify any further accomplices or related cases.
