The police have arrested Ranjit Singh Ranna, a deed writer from Kular village, in connection with a Rs5 lakh fraud case in Nakodar.
According to the complaint filed by Ashwani Kumar, a resident of Khurampur village, Ranna cheated him on the pretext of installing a solar energy system. Kumar alleged that he paid Rs5 lakh in advance, but no installation was ever carried out.
Following an investigation, the police booked Ranna under relevant sections for cheating and arrested him. Further legal action is underway.
