Savannah Brook Mahaffey Faces Multiple Charges After Search Warrant Leads to Arrest

DECATUR, Ala. — A Decatur woman has been arrested for trafficking fentanyl after a months-long investigation by the Decatur Police Department.

In October 2024, the department launched an investigation into 28-year-old Savannah Brook Mahaffey following complaints about her allegedly distributing narcotics within Decatur city limits.

As part of the investigation, Decatur police executed a search warrant at a residence on 5th Avenue SW, where they discovered fentanyl, prescription pills, and drug paraphernalia.

On Thursday, Decatur police obtained warrants for Mahaffey on charges of trafficking illegal drugs, illegal possession of prescription drugs, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers later stopped a vehicle on Alabama Highway 67 and Country Club Road, where Mahaffey was found to be the driver. She was arrested for the active warrants, and authorities discovered evidence linking her to trafficking fentanyl during the stop.

Mahaffey was booked into the Morgan County Jail, where she is being held on a $155,000 bond.
