Debra Ann Russell-Ellis Arrested for Credit Card Abuse in Sulphur Springs

60-Year-Old Faces Felony Charge for Using Stolen Credit Card

SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX – Debra Ann Russell-Ellis, a 60-year-old woman from Sulphur Springs, has been arrested on a felony charge of credit or debit card abuse following an investigation by the Sulphur Springs Police Department.

According to the police affidavit, officers were investigating a stolen credit card case when they called Russell-Ellis into the station for questioning. After being read her Miranda rights, she voluntarily spoke with investigators and allegedly admitted to using the victim’s credit card for purchases and cash withdrawals at a local casino.

Russell-Ellis was subsequently placed in double-locked handcuffs and transported to the Hopkins County Jail. The charge, which is classified as a felony under Texas Penal Code, is filed under “Credit Card or Debit Card Abuse – SJF.”

The investigation remains ongoing, with law enforcement continuing to examine the full extent of the offenses.
