SHERMAN, Texas — A former employee of Texoma Christian School has been arrested and is facing theft-related charges following an investigation into the alleged misuse of school funds.

Debbie Bowden, the school’s former finance director, was indicted by a Grayson County grand jury after school administrators uncovered discrepancies in the school’s accounting records shortly after her resignation.

According to jail records, Bowden is scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning. School officials said the irregularities involved alleged misuse of funds and fraudulent expenditures, prompting administrators to turn the information over to the Sherman Police Department.

After a thorough investigation, Sherman police referred the case to the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office, which ultimately led to the grand jury indictment.

Because the case remains an active legal matter, school officials stated they are unable to provide additional details at this time.
