Debarrea Malone-Smith Arrested for Waleed’s Food Mart Burglary

31-year-old charged after ATM break-in and theft in Vicksburg

VICKSBURG, Miss. — Authorities have arrested Debarrea Malone-Smith in connection with a burglary at Waleed’s Food Mart on Wisconsin Avenue early Sunday morning.

Vicksburg Police Chief Penny Jones reported officers responded to the burglary call at around 8:09 a.m. on June 29, 2025. Upon arrival, police found both rear doors open and the ATM damaged. Stolen items included several cartons of cigarettes, approximately $4,000 in cash, and other goods. The ATM was broken into, with an estimated $9,000 to $12,000 taken.

Following a search warrant and evidence collection, 31-year-old Malone-Smith was arrested. She has been charged with burglary and appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter on July 3 in Vicksburg Municipal Court, where bond was set at $50,000.

The investigation by the Vicksburg Police Department is ongoing.
