Dean Winslow Crawford Arrested for $10K Welder Theft in El Paso

20-year-old charged with felony theft after surveillance operation

EL PASO, Texas – A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of a high-value piece of equipment in El Paso.

Detectives with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office recovered a stolen welder valued at over $10,000 and arrested Dean Winslow Crawford as part of their investigation.

The welder was originally reported stolen in October 2024. On Monday, authorities conducted a surveillance operation that led to the recovery of the equipment and the identification of the suspect.

Crawford was located and arrested near Montana Avenue and Mescalero Drive. He now faces a felony theft of property charge.

He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with bond set at $7,500.
