Dayana Perez-Camacho Accused of Firing Shots at McDonald’s

Woman charged with recklessly endangering safety in Milwaukee

A 32-year-old Milwaukee woman, Dayana Perez-Camacho, is facing criminal charges after an alleged gunfire incident outside a McDonald’s on the city’s south side last month. Perez-Camacho has been charged with first-degree recklessly endangering safety following the event, which occurred on January 30.

According to a criminal complaint, Perez-Camacho entered the McDonald’s and became upset after a security guard denied her access to the restaurant’s bathroom. The confrontation escalated when she allegedly threatened the guard’s life and was escorted out of the building.

Once outside, Perez-Camacho reportedly threw down her purse, retrieved a handgun, and pointed it at the guard, threatening to kill her. She allegedly fired several shots into the air, with the security guard still in her vicinity. The shooting was captured by the ShotSpotter system, which detected sounds consistent with automatic gunfire.

Investigators found 9mm casings at the scene and reviewed surveillance footage from the restaurant, which showed Perez-Camacho’s aggressive behavior. On February 11, the security guard identified her from a photo lineup. Following this, a search warrant was executed at Perez-Camacho’s home, where police recovered a loaded Glock 19 handgun and other ammunition.

The firearm was tested and found to be capable of discharging multiple rounds with a single trigger pull, rendering it “fully automatic,” according to the complaint.

Perez-Camacho now faces serious criminal charges for her actions outside the McDonald’s, which placed others at risk.
