Baton Rouge Man Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Tip Jar in Ruston
RUSTON, La. — A Baton Rouge man was arrested last week after he allegedly stole a tip jar from a snow cone stand in Ruston, according to local police.
Davius Pooler, 23, was charged with theft after officers located him near the scene of the incident, which occurred in the 500 block of South Trenton Street.
The business owner told police that a man grabbed the tip jar and fled on foot toward the McDonald’s restaurant nearby. Officers responding to the call soon found Pooler, who matched the suspect’s description.
When questioned, Pooler denied taking the tip jar. However, police brought him back to the scene, where the victim positively identified him as the person responsible.
Authorities say the jar contained less than $30, and it was later found empty near the McDonald’s.
Pooler was transported to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center and booked on a theft charge.
Note: All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
