On February 20, 2025, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, launched an investigation into a suspicious package sent through the mail.
The investigation led authorities to a residence in the 3800 block of Wirtz Road, where they executed a search warrant. During the operation, officers seized approximately 15 grams of methamphetamine from the property.
As a result of the discovery, 39-year-old David Robert Valdez of Wirtz was arrested at the scene and charged with one felony count of intent to distribute methamphetamine in excess of 10 grams.
Valdez is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail on a $7,500 secured bond.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out additional charges or potential connections to larger drug distribution networks. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, alongside the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, continues to investigate the case.
Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward as they continue their inquiry.
