ABERDEEN, NC — A 51-year-old Laurinburg man was arrested at Walmart in Aberdeen on Friday after being linked to a larceny incident, and was found in possession of methamphetamine and stolen property.
According to Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis, officers responded to a report of a larceny in progress at Walmart and quickly located the suspect vehicle as the occupants left the store. After conducting a traffic stop, officers identified the driver as a female and the passenger as David Revels.
Following an investigation, including reviewing video surveillance and witness statements, authorities confirmed that the $800 worth of stolen merchandise was inside the vehicle. During a search incident to arrest, methamphetamine was found on Revels’ person, and officers also observed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Revels was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor larceny, and possession of stolen property.
Due to a pretrial release violation, Revels was denied bond. Additionally, he had active warrants from Scotland County for felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver a controlled substance and felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place. He was denied bond for those charges as well.
