David Larose Charged in Fort Ann Double Homicide of Teens

Albany Man Pleads Not Guilty to Killing Two Glens Falls Teens

Fort Edward, NY – The man accused in Thursday’s double homicide in Fort Ann made his first court appearance Friday evening. David Larose, 20, of Albany, is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting deaths of two 19-year-old Glens Falls residents: Adam M. Darrah and Marcus J. Macaulay.

The shooting occurred Thursday night on Clay Hill Road in Fort Ann, where police found the teens lying in the roadway with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both were transported to Glens Falls Hospital, where they later died from their injuries.

Larose was arrested in Troy just before 1 a.m. Friday, only hours after the shooting. He was arraigned that evening in Fort Edward, where he pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of second-degree murder and one count of criminal possession of a weapon. He is currently being held without bail at the Washington County Jail.

Speaking after the arraignment, Joanne Collins, the aunt of Marcus Macaulay, expressed grief and confusion. “We want to know why we lost a member of our family. He had his whole life ahead of him. He would have been 20 in two weeks.”

Collins described her nephew as hardworking and generous, saying he held a welding certificate, worked at Texas Roadhouse, and often gave rides to others. “It wouldn’t be unusual for Marcus to help someone out,” she said, questioning why he was on Clay Hill Road that night.

The case remains under active investigation by the New York State Police, and details remain limited. An order of protection was issued for an eyewitness involved in the case. Larose is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on May 29 in Fort Ann Town Court.

“I plan to be at every appearance, if possible,” Collins added.
